Other costs to consider

Depending on the product you’re looking at, whether it’s a hot tub, swim spa, commercial spa or ice bath, there are some additional cost considerations to keep in mind. These include –

Optional extras – This could range from hot tub steps, with pricing starting at £79.95 to the Vortex ClearLift™ automatic swim spa cover that costs £6,995.00. (Vortex ClearLift™ can only be bought at the time of purchase on select Vortex Spas™ Swim Spas and Fisher Spas™ Swim Spas)

Running costs – Like the general running of a car, the requirements to run our products generally covers – water maintenance, draining and refilling, power usage, replacing components when required such as headrests, jet faces and lights. Running costs vary for a number of reasons, including – type of product, where it is located and how often it is used.

Servicing – To keep your product in best working condition, we recommend that you service your investment every 12 months. The cost to service your products will vary, depending on the product and level of service.

Delivery – All of our retailers offer full delivery of your hot tub, swim spa and ice bath. This does not include specialist lifting equipment, such as a hiab delivery or crane contract lift. Pricing can range from approximately £850.00 to £1,300.00.

Installation and commissioning – Some products offered by Spa Solutions will require more installation effort than others. For example, an ice bath placed on tiles vs an inground swim spa. There are many factors that play into the overall cost of product installation. We estimate that installation and commissioning costs across all domestic products we offer can vary from £495.00 to £695.00.

How can I save on hot tub costs?

Good news! While an investment in Spa Solutions products will naturally come with ongoing costs over its user lifetime, there are plenty of ways you can reduce these costs too.

Here are some expert tips, as noted by Anthony Schneikert, Managing Director of Spa Solutions –

  • Utilise energy efficient product features or consider investing in optional extras offered with the product. It may be an investment upfront, but will help you lower running costs over the lifetime of the product.
    • Included energy efficient features on some of our products –
    • Cabinet insulation,
    • Dynamic thermal tuning (Vortex Spas™)
    • Variable output heater (Vortex Spas™)
    • TempShield® reflective insulation (Viking Spas)
  • Optional extras that come equipped with some products include –
    • SpaNet™ EcoCube (Vortex Spas™ and Fisher Spas™)
    • SpaNet™ SV Series Heat Pump (Vortex Spas™)
  • Stick to product servicing recommendations. The guidelines exist, purely to ensure your product remains in best working condition over its lifetime.
  • Reduce water temperature when the hot tub is not in use. Lowering the water temperature by a few degrees celsius can result in a lower electricity bill.
  • Clean filters – Well-maintained filters mean the circulation pump will not need to work in excess to maintain water clarify. This will help reduce energy usage.
  • Cover – It’s a great idea to ensure your cover is correctly placed on your hot tub or swim spa, and there are no signs of wear and tear. For example damage to the cover skirts. This will ensure cooler outside air is restricted from entering and cooling the hot tub water.
